Primary election results
On June 2, voters in Iowa chose who would represent the Republican and Democrat parties. On ballots in the primary election were county, state and federal offices.
Worth County offices that appeared on primary election ballots included the attorney, recorder, treasurer and supervisors from District 1 and District 3.
Filing to be the party candidates and chosen in the primary for county attorney were incumbent attorney Jeffrey H. Greve, for the Republican nomination, and Dexter Banks, Democratic Party candidate.
Running unopposed and receiving the Republican party vote for county recorder was Jolene Hickle.
Running unopposed and receiving the Republican party vote for treasurer was incumbent Jake Hanson.
Running unopposed and receiving the Republican party vote for Republican candidate for District 1 supervisor was Marena Henkle.
Running for the Republican party nomination for Republican candidate for District 3 supervisor were Mike Hanson and Gary Hengesteg. Hanson was elected to be the Republican candidate.
In addition to county positions, appearing on primary ballots were state elected offices.
One State legislative race was be on ballots representing Worth County.
Running for the Republican nomination for House District 60 were incumbent Jane Bloomingdale, Northwood, and Dani Ollenburg. Ollenburg was chosen as the Republican candidate.
Running unopposed for the Democratic nomination was Alexander Schmidt.
Following are results reported on the Iowa Secretary of State's Election website:
Winnebago County offices appearing on ballots included Supervisor for District 1. Running for the Republican nomination were Terry Durby and Marvin Gudmonson. Durby received 104 votes. Gudmonson received 102 votes.
Running to be the Republican candidate for District 3 were Bill Jensvold and Brent Swenson. Swenson received 155 votes for the nomination.
Julie Swenson appeared unopposed for the Republican candidate for county treasurer.
Running unopposed for the Republican nomination for county record was Shanna Eastvold.
Running unopposed for the Republican nomination for county attorney was Kelsey Beenken.
In addition to county positions, appearing on primary ballots were state elected offices.
Two State legislative races were on ballots representing Winnebago County.
That included Senator from Iowa’s District 5. Running for the Republican nomination were Stacy Besch and Dave Rowley. Rowley received the majority of votes.
Running unopposed for the Republican nomination for House District 9 was Henry Stone.
Federal races also appeared on ballots.
Running for U.S. Representative from Iowa’s District 2, including Worth County, were, for the Republican nomination, Charlie McClintock and Joe Mitchell. Mitchell was elected to the nomination.
Running for the Democratic nomination were Lindsay James, Clint Twedt-Ball and Kathy Dolter. James was elected to the nomination.
Running for U.S. Representative from Iowa’s District 4, including Winnebago County, was Chris McGowan, unopposed for the Republican nomination.
Running for the Democratic nomination were Dave Dawson, Stephanie Steiner and Ashley WolfTornabane. Dawson was elected to the nomination.
