Historic restoration
At the end of August, a celebration was held at the Stromstein Building. The building was acquired by the Worth County Historical Society in 2011. In the 13 years since, WCPH project organizers have worked with donors, volunteers, grant organizers and members of the community to rehabilitate the building. Today it offers and ground floor retail space and an apartment above. Those that supported the building’s rstoration efforts were invited to a reception on August 29. They enjoyed a meal and a chance to take a look at the restored building. Pictured is Ann Henrickson (standing on the stairs) as she talked about the project and thanked those gathered for their support of the project.
They’ll be the judge
Before the school year began, these members of the Northwood-Kensett FFA Chapter traveled to Ames to take part in the State Livestock and Meats Judging event. Pictured at the Hansen Learning Center are (from left) Taylor Foss, Weston Willand and Landen Nelson.
Out standing in the field
FFA and ag students in Mr. Miller’s classroom at Northwood-Kensett recently spent time at the test plot. They took some time to count ears on the stalks, a potential indicator of eventual yields.
