One more walk through the halls
A fairly new graduation week tradition resumed last week, as Northwood-Kensett’s graduating seniors walked through the halls of the elementary school. Their visit allowed the younger students to applaud the grads-to-be while also getting a look at their future
Learning about the library
With just a few days left in their school year, students in Northwood-Kensett’s first grade classes paid a visit to the Northwood Public Library. While there they signed up for library cards, giving them more opportunities for summer reading. They also toured the library to learn more about what resources are available, had a bood read to them by library director Morgan Johnson and got to try some of the computer programs available for young readers.
A porcine performance
Students in Northwood-Kensett preschool classes recently held their graduation and end of the year play, sharing the tale of three little pigs and a visiting less than neighborly wolf. Pictured above is the market, where the pigs’ building materials were chosen. Pictured at left is the wolf, paying one of the pigs a visit.
Making a community contribution
Last week, members of the Viafield Community Enhancement Foundation presented a contribution to the community effort to build the Vikings Activity Center. Viafield representatives (from left) Chris Menke, Courtney Bartz, Steve Bodensteiner and Brandon Severson are pictured at the construction site with superintendent Mike Crozier and members of the community committee that helped raise funds for the project, Ron Hengesteg, Amber Julseth and Steve Peterson. The Viafield Community Enhancement Foundation presented a $10,000 contribution, with a matching grant from CoBank.
